Land Acknowledgement
Players would like to acknowledge that the land we gather on is the traditional territory of the Wendat, the Anishnaabeg, the Haudenosaunee, Metis, and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
We are very grateful to tell our stories and celebrate being together on these lands for our shows.
We encourage you to learn more and engage with organizations that support Indigineous peoples, such as the Downie Wenjack Foundation, who we've been proud to support for several seasons.
2024 Charities
PODIUM encourages you to give generously to any or all of the four wonderful charities being supported by Players this year:
Every donation to WCC supports underserved and underheard populations throughout Canada. It helps provide access to a powerful community writing program that is proven to support healing, hope, self-expression, a sense of purpose, and more – all by empowering voice and creating connection through story.
Founded in 1983, the Alzheimer Society of Ontario (ASO) is the province's leading care and research charity committed to helping people with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. The Alzheimer Society strives to stay on the cutting edge of dementia care. They respect backgrounds, values, beliefs and traditions of the people and communities they serve and seek input from diverse groups. They value open communication with their clients, donors, staff and volunteers.
The Daily Bread Food Bank Programs and Services team works hard to provide the best support to meet the needs of their diverse membership and the communities they serve. Together, they provide dignified, low-barrier food access to adults, seniors and children experiencing food insecurity.
Daily Bread Food Bank’s network consists of 128 member agencies and 193 food programs.
The goal is to end hunger in our city.
Working together with health care and research professionals, patients, and the community, The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation raises funds to support breakthrough research, patient care and education programs at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. The Princess Margaret is a recognized international leader in the fight against cancer and none of this would be possible without the generous support, commitment and dedication of their donors and community.
The Players Charitable Mandate
Players is dedicated to raising funds for, and awareness of, the efforts of a variety of fantastic charities. Our season of shows is the means through which we make repeated important financial contributions to our charities, and our audience is our tool for spreading the awareness of the needs each of these organizations is addressing.

To date we have donated almost $240,000 to wide variety of charities!

Director's Notes
You’re in for a delicious pink treat! This cast, crew and band of Bears and Barbies and Kens (OH MY!) are a dream team – and what a good job they do at Players!
The writers have cooked up a hilarious show in their comedy kitchen – highlighting how stressful it can be to pretend to be someone you’re not, and that we could all use a little more playtime and imagination in our lives.
This is an exciting year, putting our summer production on in our new home of Comedy Bar Danforth. We’re excited that this new space has excellent sound, drinks, food, sightlines, staff and accessibility for our audience and Players alike so that we can put on the tightest, brightest and funniest Players show we can.
Be sure to say HI BARBIE and YES CHEF as you SING and enjoy a SEAMLESS show.
Thank you for the immense effort and many volunteer hours put in by everyone. Enjoy BEARBIE!
Much love,
Your Directors,
Meg Mack & Victoria Maria
